I have been looking forward to sharing this wedding with you as it is one of my favourites of this year as well as one of my last before I started maternity leave. I had been looking forward to this wedding for a while! Steffi and Ash were wed at Basildon Park in Reading, and held their book themed reception at Herons Farm. Both venues are absolutely stunning and the level of detail that went into their theme was impressive! I offer a range of wedding packages and the lovely couple had chosen a half day package which has 6 hours coverage. Within those 6 hours, we were able to capture so many fun shots, laughter and beautiful details of the wedding.

We arrived at Basildon Park on a beautiful hot summer’s day. And I mean hot! Ash and his groomsmen were looking dapper in their Marks and Spencer suits, finished with bowtie and a top hat in Ash’s buttonhole. Steffi arrived in a classic Volkswagen Beetle with her father provided by Wedding Classic Cars. Steffi looked stunning in her beautiful Amanda Wyatt dress, and was joined by her four bridesmaids in gorgeous 1950s dresses from Vivien of Holloway.

The ceremony was held in Basildon Park’s Garden Room that has an Eastern style scenery painted on the walls, which then leads out to the gardens that has stunning views of the countryside. The service was very moving, particularly during their personal vows. After they were wed, canapes and drinks were served in the gardens before we did some group shots and moved on to Herons Farm.

Their reception was held in a huge barn and they decorated it with a book theme. The centrepieces were made out of books in the shape of vases that the couple made themselves and bouquets of flowers with playing cards and teacups provided by Jay Archer Floral Design. There were books and quotes laid out. Ash and his grandad had even made the wooden blocks that held the place cards and table names which were made by Sven van Heijningen. The reception started off with a tea party with plenty of scones and cakes provided. There was also unlimited ice cream supplied by Matt Benecci Ice Cream Tricycles which was very welcoming on such a blazing hot day! The cake was made up of different types of cheeses which looked amazing surrounded in fruit and vines that was provided by Premier Wedding Cheese Cakes. The ushers took polaroid photos of all the guests which were then stuck into the guest book next to their messages. Later on, there were games of crochet and bowls on the lawn.

It was such a fun wedding to be a part of, and I want to say a massive thank you to Steffi and Ash for letting me and Rachael Pereira who second shot for me be a part of it! Congratulations again guys!
